Mitered Square

Many patterns exist for the mitered square.

Brick Wall Square

I though this was another nifty cable pattern, found here. Alas, so many ends to weave in!

Diagonal Square

This one is a modified dishcloth, found here. The pattern called for it to be doubled, which I didn't want. So I started on the diagonal, same as on the pattern, and did sc on both sides, then did sc along each side, each time through I joined two stitches together, so each row was reduced by two stitches.

Diamond Cables

Basketweave Square

I thought this square looked really neat. It's kind of difficult to see the weave in the picture, but trust me, it's cool. Made of alternating cable stitches. The pattern can be found here.

Creation!

I've decided to make a crochet sample afghan. I've done a survey, looking for some interesting squares. Things that I'd like to try, but not make a big project out of. I've mostly taken squares from dishclothes, granny, and scarfs.

I don't want it too colorful, which might take away from the design of the squares. However, I've also selected some squares that would look better with multiple colors. So I've compromised and have decided to use two colors. I've chosen Lion Brand Jiffy, in country green and violet
